For 36 years, Caples has celebrated courageous creative with winning entries from direct marketing professionals around the world. In partnership with Direct Marketing News, Caples is proud to continue the Caples Student Campaign of the Year Award, which offers undergraduate students an opportunity to be part of this annual international event and compete for an internship and substantial cash prize based on the strength of their ideas and innovation in the field of direct marketing.
Sponsored by ASL Marketing, the competition allows students to take a real-world problem and apply their knowledge of direct marketing.
AssIGNMENT
The Caples Student Campaign of the Year requires students to design a marketing campaign. This year the challenge is to help IKEA drive awareness of its new store location among students and parents, while ensuring brand perception is elevated based on its broad array of products and focus on customer service. This assignment will include a written plan and creative elements. Check out the entry kit here!

wINNERS
The winning individual or group will receive a generous $5,000 cash prize. In addition, the winning individual or lead group member will receive an internship at ASL Marketing and a paid trip to the annual Caples Awards in New York City in November 213.

Is there a fee to enter?
Entries for the Caples Student Campaign of the Year competition are free.
When are entries due?
Entries are due October 4, 2013.
Am I qualified to enter?
You can enter as long as you are enrolled as an undergraduate student at a U.S. college, university or portfolio school between November 1, 2012 and November 1, 2013, and are 18 years of age or older. All majors are welcome to enter.
How do I submit my entry?
You must upload your campaign write-up and any digital elements of your campaign to the online entry system. You may save your entry kit information as a draft if you are not ready to submit it. Once you are ready, remember to mark it as "final" in order to indicate that you are officially entering the contest. All print elements of your campaign must be postmarked by the entry deadline and mailed to: Caples SCOTY, c/o Nicole Marshall, 114 West 26th Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
Can I work in a group?
Yes, and we encourage you to do so, but you are welcome to enter as an individual as well.
Do I have to work with a professor?
No, but it is encouraged as he/she can provide valuable feedback about your entry before you submit it.
